There are many different styles of wooden dummies (mok yan jong). I chose to make this super simplified free standing wooden dummy. I left out some of the finer details but you should be able to get the idea. Gather these materials: 5/8" Wooden Dowel 7/32" Wooden Dowel 3/32" x 3/16" Balsa Wood Strip 1" x 1/8" Wooden Disk 22 Gauge Wire -Cut the 5/8" dowel to 3 1/2", cut three 7/32" dowels to 11/16", cut a 1" long balsa wood strip with one 45° angle, cut a 3/8" long balsa wood strip with a slight angle on one side, and cut five 1/4" pieces of wire -Drill a hole in the center of the wooden disk and the 5/8" dowel. Glue a wire into the disk and then glue the wooden disk to the bottom of the 5/8" dowel. Drill a hole into one end of the 7/32" dowels and glue in the wire, glue the angled end of the longer strip to the flat side of the shorter piece. Drill a hole into the end and glue in a piece of wire. Drill four holes into the 5/8" dowel (knee, stomach, shoulder/chest - one offset left, offset lower and right) -Taper the arms with sand paper, file, or use a pencil sharpener (make sure you leave the end flat, not a point). Cut the corner off the leg and sand it smooth -Glue in the arms (angled outward) and leg. Paint it up if you'd like
